The Role of Education in Shaping Students' Character and Morals

This study examines the strategic role of education in shaping students' character and morals as an integral part of the human personality development process. The main objective of this study is to identify the contribution of education in developing students' character and morals, and to analyze the factors that influence the effectiveness of character education in formal educational settings. The method used in this study is a literature review, by examining various academic sources in the form of books, journal articles, and previous research results relevant to character and moral education. The results of the study indicate that education plays a central role in instilling moral values such as honesty, responsibility, discipline, and social awareness through value-based curriculum planning, the creation of a conducive school environment, and the application of learning methods that integrate cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. In addition, the role of educators as role models, school culture, and family and community involvement also influence the success of student character formation. Education implemented holistically and continuously has been proven to be able to shape individuals with strong character, high morals, and social awareness in community life. The findings of this study emphasize the importance of systematically integrating character and moral education into the formal education system as an effort to create a generation that is not only academically superior, but also has noble character, is responsible, and is able to contribute positively to the nation and society.References
