Educational Foundations

The foundation of education is a conceptual basis that serves as a guideline in the implementation of education so that the entire educational process takes place systematically, directed, and in accordance with national education goals. This article aims to examine the definition, purpose, function, types, and role of the foundation of education in learning. The research uses a literature study method (library research) by collecting, reviewing, and analyzing various scientific sources in the form of relevant books and journals, then synthesizing them to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the foundation of education. The results of the study indicate that the foundation of education has a strategic role as a basis for the formulation of educational policies, curriculum development, learning implementation, and educational evaluation. The foundation of education consists of philosophical, psychological, sociological, juridical, historical, cultural, and scientific and technological foundations that complement each other in supporting the creation of quality education. In addition, the application of the foundation of education in the learning process can help educators choose approaches, strategies, methods, media, and evaluations that are appropriate to the characteristics of students and developments in science and technology. Thus, understanding the foundation of education is an important factor in improving the quality of education and realizing a learning process that is effective, innovative, student-centered, and relevant to the demands of modern developments.References
