Abstract

The family environment has an important role in supporting early childhood development because the family becomes the first place where children receive education, attention, and character building. Early childhood is often referred to as the golden age because physical, emotional, social, language, and cognitive development occurs very rapidly. This article aims to analyze the role of the family environment in supporting early childhood development through a literature study approach (library research). Data were obtained from various sources, including scientific journals, educational books, and relevant documents concerning early childhood development and family education. The results of the study indicate that the family environment significantly influences children's growth and development, particularly through parenting patterns, affection, communication, moral value habituation, and educational support at home. Parents have a major responsibility to create a safe, comfortable, and supportive atmosphere for optimal child development. However, various challenges such as economic limitations, parental busyness, digital technology influences, and limited understanding of child education remain obstacles in optimizing the family's role. Therefore, active family involvement is a major factor in supporting comprehensive early childhood development.
