Ethical Foundations of Education: Moral Values in the World of Education

Educational ethics serves as an essential foundation for developing a learning process that is oriented not only toward intellectual achievement but also toward the formation of students’ character and moral development. This article examines the ethical foundations of education and the application of moral values within the educational context as an effort to cultivate a generation that is ethical, responsible, and possesses strong integrity. The study employs a literature review method by analyzing various scholarly sources, including books, academic journals, and scientific articles related to educational ethics and moral values. The findings reveal that moral values such as honesty, discipline, responsibility, tolerance, justice, and respect play a significant role in creating a healthy, inclusive, and humanistic educational environment. Teachers, as educators, bear a moral responsibility to serve as role models in both attitude and behavior, ensuring that the educational process involves not only the transmission of knowledge but also the internalization of ethical values among students. Furthermore, educational institutions are encouraged to integrate moral education into curricula, school culture, and everyday learning activities. The challenges posed by technological advancement and globalization further highlight the need to strengthen educational ethics, enabling students to critically evaluate and filter negative influences that may undermine moral values. Therefore, the effective implementation of educational ethics can serve as a powerful means of developing students who possess strong character, noble morals, and the capacity to make positive contributions to society, the nation, and the state.References
