Basics of Character Formation for Students in the Concept of Education

Character building is one of the primary objectives of Islamic education. Islamic education is not only oriented toward the development of knowledge and intellectual abilities but also emphasizes the cultivation of moral values and personality in accordance with Islamic teachings. Students’ character is developed through the internalization of faith, piety, honesty, responsibility, discipline, and social awareness. The process of character formation in Islamic education is grounded in theological, philosophical, psychological, social, and pedagogical foundations, which collectively guide the development of individuals with balanced spiritual, moral, and intellectual qualities. Through the implementation of these values and principles, Islamic education is expected to nurture students who possess noble character, strong Islamic personalities, and the ability to contribute positively to society.References
