Abstract

Islamic education is a systematic process aimed at developing individuals who possess faith, knowledge, noble character, and the ability to fulfill their responsibilities as servants of Allah and members of society. Understanding the objectives of Islamic education is essential because these objectives serve as the foundation for all educational activities, including curriculum development, learning processes, and educational evaluation. This study aims to examine the concept of the objectives of Islamic education, including its definition, educational goals, stages of objectives, aspects of objectives, and functions of objectives. The study employs a qualitative approach through library research by analyzing various sources such as books, journal articles, and relevant academic literature related to Islamic educational thought. The findings indicate that the objectives of Islamic education are directed toward achieving holistic human development, encompassing spiritual, intellectual, moral, social, and physical dimensions. The stages of educational objectives range from general objectives to specific instructional objectives that guide the learning process. The aspects of educational objectives include cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains integrated with Islamic values. Furthermore, the objectives of Islamic education function as guidelines for educational planning, implementation, and evaluation, ensuring that educational activities remain aligned with the principles and values of Islam. Therefore, a comprehensive understanding of the objectives of Islamic education is necessary to achieve effective educational outcomes and to foster the development of individuals with balanced personalities and strong moral character.
